DISPLAYMATCH — BETA 0.305 (build 305)
=============================================

DisplayMatch helps your external displays feel more like your Mac. Fine-tune
colour, tint and brightness by eye for a more comfortable match. Thanks for
testing it!

Needs macOS 26 or later on a Mac with Apple silicon.

This is a beta: things may change or misbehave. If a display ever looks
wrong and you can't reach the controls, press Control + Option + Command +
Esc (⌃⌥⌘Esc) to stop DisplayMatch and put your displays back to normal.

1. INSTALL
----------
1. Double-click the zip file if it hasn't unzipped already. You'll get a
   folder with "DisplayMatch.app" inside.
2. Drag "DisplayMatch.app" into your Applications folder.
3. Open it from Applications. It opens straight away: this build is
   notarized by Apple.

2. PERMISSIONS
--------------
DisplayMatch needs two permissions before it starts, and macOS asks for
them one at a time the first time you open it. For each one, click "Open
System Settings", turn on DisplayMatch, and go back to the app. It carries
on starting up by itself once both are allowed.

- Accessibility (asked first): DisplayMatch uses this to put your windows
back where they were after it changes a display's resolution. It only
uses window positions and sizes, temporarily, on your Mac.
- Screen Recording (in System Settings it's called "Screen & System Audio
Recording"): DisplayMatch adjusts what you see by processing the screen
image. This happens in memory on your Mac: nothing is saved to disk as
images or recordings, uploaded or shared, and no audio is captured.
- Input Monitoring (optional): only for the retro keyboard sounds. Typed
text is never read, saved or shared. Set Key clack volume to zero and it
  stops listening.

If macOS asks you to quit and reopen DisplayMatch after a permission change,
do that.

3. UPDATING TO A NEW BETA
-------------------------
DisplayMatch checks for a new beta a few seconds after it opens, and you
can check any time with DisplayMatch > Check for Beta Update…. Choose
Download to install it: DisplayMatch puts your displays back, replaces
itself and opens again.

To update by hand instead:
1. Quit DisplayMatch.
2. Unzip the new version and drag "DisplayMatch.app" into Applications.
   Choose "Replace" when asked.
3. Open it again.

Keep the name "DisplayMatch.app" and keep it in Applications. Every beta is
signed by the same developer, so macOS keeps its permissions, and your
settings and presets are kept too.

4. UNINSTALLING
---------------
Quit DisplayMatch, then move "DisplayMatch.app" from Applications to the
Bin. You can also remove it from System Settings > Privacy & Security >
Accessibility, Screen & System Audio Recording and Input Monitoring.

5. FEEDBACK
-----------
Click "Beta feedback" at the top right of the DisplayMatch window (or
choose Help > Send Beta Feedback…) to tell us about a problem, an idea or
something you like. Diagnostic information is only included if you tick
the box, and "Show exactly what will be sent" shows all of it first.

Please tell us what worked, what didn't, and which displays you used it
with (make and model, and how they're connected). You can also email
info@gothicworkshop.com; screenshots or photos help.
Thank you!
